Functional Performance Testing and Verification of the Building Envelope for Commissioning
TMI® provides Mockup Testing and Field Testing to verify the functional performance of the Building Enclosure.
Functional performance testing may include:
on-site field testing of cladding and fenestration connections for air infiltration (ASTM E783 – ASTM E1186), water penetration (ASTM E1105 – AAMA 501.2) and thermal performance. Including but not limited to storefronts, transitions to adjacent systems, field of air barrier penetrations, canopy and miscellaneous soffits, vertical and horizontal expansion joints, curtain walls and glazed window assemblies.
Inspections and testing of the installed air barrier material (ASTM D4541), review of the air barrier design for continuity and verification of the building envelope with whole building air tightness testing (ASTM E779, ASTM E1827, CAN/CGSB 149.10-M86 or CAN/CGSB-149.1596).Testing of the building envelope is supplemented with diagnostics including infrared thermography and fog testing. (ASTM E1186 – ASTM C1060 – ISO 6781 – ASTM C1153).
